1. Go to www.kickstarter.com, where you’ll see the form below. Enter your name, email, and password (you’ll be asked to enter your email and password twice), click to verify you’re not a robot, and click to create an account.

2. Once you’ve clicked to create an account, you’ll be taken to the main Kickstarter page, where you’ll be asked to verify your email.

3. Go to your email inbox and click to verify your email. That will return you to the main Kickstarter page, where you can search for the project you would like to support.

4. Once you’ve found the project you’d like to support, click on “Back this project” to the right of the introductory image or video. You will then be taken to a page where you can select which tier to back, and asked to enter your payment and shipping information.

5. Alternatively, you can scroll down and see the various purchase options in the right sidebar. Once you find the tier you want, you can click on the green button labeled “Pledge $___,” and you’ll be taken to a page where you can enter your payment and shipping information. (The green button—circled in red—is gray in the screenshot because this is a preview.)

6. You can also click on the “Rewards” tab at the top of the page and select the tier you would like from there. Again, you’ll be taken to a page asking for your payment and shipping information.

Whichever place you click to purchase a book, you will have the option to add additional copies. (So, for example, you could back at Tier 2—one signed paperback—but add on an additional paperback if you want two copies.)

You’re also able to back a tier at a higher price than the cost of the reward. So, for example, if you really want to support this project, but only want the e-book, you could pay $50 to receive the $10 e-book. (You’ll see this option right before check-out.)
